Disclosure of unannounced gadgets has become a kind of online sport. Of course, the most interesting are popular brands like Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple. Who doesn't want to know what the iPhone 13 Pro will look like and what the device is capable of? However, Apple does not share such views. The company attracted locals law firms in several countries to force bloggers, insiders and designers to stop revealing Apple's trade secrets. Apple has filed a lawsuit against the famous graphic designer.

Revealing the secrets of Apple

This mainly applies to content creators who publish information about Apple products that have not yet been announced. Apple has hired a lawyer in the Netherlands. One of the Dutch people contacted for violating the company's secrets is graphic designer Jermaine Smith, also known online as Concept Creator. LetsGoDigital received access to a letter that Jermaine received from the Amsterdam law firm Hofhuis Alkema Groen Advocaten, which specializes in intellectual property issues.

The 5-page letter refers to "information theft" - illegally obtained confidential information from Apple, which was disclosed. An example is the concept of AirPods Max, developed by Jermaine. This type of reporting will harm the company and "deprive Apple of the opportunity to surprise customers with announcements of new products."

"I am unpleasantly surprised by the letter from Apple, because I do not consider myself a disseminator of information. I just want to create 3D concepts and develop in them. I have to think about how to deal with it in the future. "

No matter what you think about this situation, Apple's steps could have serious consequences for future online news about the company's unannounced devices. All the content creators they have contacted work for themselves and therefore cannot be compared to the powerful Apple. Most will choose to remain silent, and this, to some extent, threatens the freedom of journalism.
