The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTA) has announced the official schedule for the Grade 8 Annual Examination 2026. The exams will take place over four days, starting on March 9 and ending on March 12.
According to the schedule, exams will be held daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The first paper will be Mathematics on Monday, followed by Urdu on Tuesday. English will be held on Wednesday, and the final paper, Science, is scheduled for Thursday.
PECTA stated that all other Grade 8 subjects will be conducted by schools themselves through the IBS facility as part of the School Based Assessment (SBA) model. The authority said it will release the schedule for these subjects, along with the End of Year Term Assessment 2026 for other grades, in the coming days.
Students have been warned not to bring mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or any electronic devices to the exam hall. They are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Entry will only be allowed upon presentation of the B Form and roll number slip.
Candidates must bring a blue or black ballpoint pen and a clipboard. Students sitting the Mathematics paper are also required to carry their own geometry box. The authority further directed students to use only the provided answer booklet for all questions, as no extra sheets will be issued. Leaving the examination hall before the paper ends is strictly prohibited.
PECTA said these measures are intended to ensure a smooth and fair examination process across the province. Parents and students are urged to carefully review the instructions to avoid confusion on exam days.
With exams just weeks away, teachers and students are now focused on final preparations. Schools across Punjab are expected to strictly follow the schedule and rules to maintain order and fairness.
