The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore is officially moving into the final stages of its 2026 admissions cycle as the first phase of the Combined Entrance Test begins. University spokesperson Rana Tanveer Qasim announced that the undergraduate examinations for the Fall semester are scheduled to take place from March 30 to April 2, 2026. This high-stakes assessment is a critical requirement for students seeking entry into one of the country’s most prestigious engineering institutions and its various affiliated colleges.
This year, the university expects a significant turnout with approximately 18,500 candidates registered to participate in the testing process. This figure includes a substantial number of students who are also taking part in preliminary mock examinations.
To ensure the process remains accessible for students across the province, the university has established a wide network of testing centers. These include the UET Lahore main campus, its various sub-campuses, and several major partner universities and technical institutes located in different cities.
The examination itself is designed as a computer-based test, moving away from traditional paper formats to ensure faster processing and higher accuracy in grading. Each testing session is strictly timed at 100 minutes, challenging students to demonstrate both their academic knowledge and their ability to manage time under pressure.
To mitigate technical anxiety and help students acclimate to the digital interface, the university organized a mock test session on Saturday. This practice run was held at all designated centers, allowing candidates to navigate the software and understand the login procedures before the actual marks count toward their future.
Geographic coverage remains a priority for the UET administration to accommodate the thousands of applicants. Beyond the central Lahore campus, testing is being conducted at the Faisalabad and Narowal campuses, as well as the Rachna College of Engineering and Technology in Gujranwala.
Southern Punjab is well-represented with centers at Bahauddin Zakariya University and the NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology in Multan, along with the Islamia University of Bahawalpur’s Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus and the Khawaja Fareed University in Rahim Yar Khan. Students in the northern and central regions can also access centers at UET Taxila and the University of Gujrat.

By distributing the 18,500 candidates across these multiple sessions and locations, the university aims to maintain a smooth operational flow and prevent overcrowding. The spokesperson emphasized that all technical arrangements have been finalized to provide a seamless experience for the aspirants. As the testing window opens on Monday, the university enters a busy four-day period that will ultimately determine the next generation of engineers and technologists for the nation.
