In a major academic development affecting thousands of students across the country, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced that final examinations for the Autumn 2025 semester will begin nationwide on March 2.
According to the official statement, examinations will be conducted simultaneously across all four provinces, as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring uniformity and coordination throughout the country. The large-scale exercise reflects the university’s extensive outreach as one of Pakistan’s largest distance learning institutions.
The examination schedule covers a wide range of academic programs, including Matric, FA, Associate Degree, BA, BS, B.Ed, and Postgraduate Diploma courses. University officials confirmed that preparations have been finalised to facilitate students appearing in various centres nationwide.
As per the issued date sheet, examinations will run continuously from March 2 to March 17 without interruption. However, the university has scheduled a break from March 18 to March 25 in observance of Eid ul Fitr. Following the holiday break, examinations will resume on March 26 and continue until May 13.
The date sheet has been uploaded to the university’s official website, enabling students to review their subject-wise schedules in advance. Additionally, roll number slips have been made available through the university’s CMS portal. Students have been advised to download and print their slips well before the examination date to avoid last-minute difficulties.
University authorities have issued strict instructions regarding examination protocols. Students must arrive at their respective centres on time and are required to carry both their roll number slip and original identity card. Officials have clearly stated that no candidate will be allowed to sit for the examination without these mandatory documents.
AIOU officials emphasised that all necessary administrative arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the exams. Examination staff and invigilators have been briefed, while centres across the country have been prepared to handle the large number of candidates expected to participate.
The announcement has prompted students to intensify their preparation efforts, with many expressing determinations to perform well in the upcoming assessments. As the March 2 start date approaches, academic activity at study centres and regional campuses has noticeably increased.
With a structured timetable and clear guidelines in place, Allama Iqbal Open University aims to conduct the Autumn 2025 examinations in an organised and transparent manner, reinforcing its commitment to accessible and credible education nationwide.
