Punjab to Start Laptop Distribution in Gujranwala Division Under CM Laptop Scheme
Punjab Education Minister has announced that the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will begin laptop distribution in the Gujranwala Division on Monday. The ceremony will take place at the University of Gujrat and is part of the ongoing rollout of the Chief Minister’s Laptop Program across the province.
The move comes as the provincial government continues to expand the CM Laptop Scheme to reach more students in higher education institutions. Recently, the deadline for submitting applications under the program was extended until February 28, 2026, giving additional eligible students the opportunity to apply through the official online portal.
In addition to extending the deadline, the government has broadened the eligibility criteria to include students enrolled in private universities. Private university students who have secured at least 65 percent marks are now eligible to apply for a free laptop under the scheme. This step is part of a larger effort to ensure wider access to digital resources for students across Punjab, supporting their academic growth and access to technology.
The laptop distribution ceremonies are being organized division by division to ensure systematic delivery and maximum participation. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of students, providing them with modern tools to enhance learning and digital literacy in higher education institutions throughout the province.
The CM Punjab Laptop Program reflects the government’s commitment to promoting education and bridging the digital divide among students, especially as online learning and digital resources become increasingly essential in academic success.
