ISLAMABAD – Pakistan is taking a massive leap toward becoming a global hub for digital creativity as the Centre of Excellence in Gaming and Animation (CEGA) officially opens registrations for its second incubation cohort. This initiative invites the nation’s brightest startups and creators to scale their visions through a powerhouse partnership between the Ministry of IT and Telecom, Ignite – National Technology Fund, and HUM Network Limited. CEGA is rapidly becoming the heartbeat of Pakistan’s gaming and animation ecosystem.
Equity-Free Growth for Digital Creators
The program offers a unique six-month, equity-free incubation cycle, allowing startups to receive world-class support without surrendering any ownership of their company. The curriculum is specifically tailored for those working in video game development, 3D animation, and interactive technology. By removing financial barriers, the program ensures that the focus remains entirely on innovation and technical excellence.
From Idea to Market Readiness
Selected participants will gain access to modern infrastructure and specialized technical labs, moving through a structured journey from initial ideation to market validation. The experience includes high-level mentorship from seasoned industry professionals and deep integration with Tech Destination Pakistan. This network provides a bridge between creative concepts and business scalability, helping participants move from a demonstration-ready product to a competitive market entry.
A National Vision for the Creative Economy
This initiative is part of a much larger goal to bolster Pakistan’s digital footprint. CEGA aims to train 10,000 individuals in high-end digital skills and incubate as many as 200 startups over the coming years. By providing co-working spaces and community support, the hub caters to both fresh-faced early-stage teams and more mature ventures looking for a technical edge in the global market.
Strategic Partnerships and Applications
The second cohort is backed by heavyweights in the local tech and gaming scene, including Section Soft, Ideofuzion, Sablo Studio, LCE (LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship), Techsol Space, and AGON Esports. These collaborations ensure that participants are plugged into the very best resources Pakistan has to offer. Aspiring founders and creators must submit their details, including startup name and product focus, through the official registration portal to be assessed for eligibility and matched with tailored support services.
