If you’ve been losing sleep over result dates or wondering when the next school year actually kicks off, you can finally breathe a bit easier. The Sindh Education Department has officially cleared the air. Following a high-level Steering Committee meeting led by Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah, the province has locked in its roadmap for the 2026–27 academic session.
For those waiting on intermediate scores, the dates are now set in stone. Class 12 students can expect their results on June 15, 2026, while Class 11 results will follow shortly after on July 1. This early announcement is a massive relief for students aiming for university admissions, giving them a clear window to plan their next moves.
The New Academic Cycle
The committee didn’t just stop at results; they’ve overhauled the entire calendar. The 2026–27 academic year is scheduled to start on April 1, 2026. If you’re looking to enroll a child in any grade up to Class 9, keep your documents ready—the admission window opens on March 1 and slams shut on March 31.
Matric and Intermediate Exam Timelines
The schedule for board exams is going to be tight this year. Here’s how the timeline looks for secondary and higher secondary levels:
- Matric (Class 9 & 10): Exams will run from March 30 to April 15.
- The Class 10 results are expected by June 1, with Class 9 following on June 15.
- Intermediate (Class 11 & 12): The examination window is fixed between April 15 and April 30.
- College Admissions: For those entering Class 11, the Central Admission Policy kicks in on June 1 and stays open until the end of July.
Policies for Younger Students
There’s also some big news for the younger lot. In a move to reduce academic pressure, the committee decided that students in Classes 1 to 3 will be promoted automatically without the stress of formal exams. However, it’s not a free pass for everyone, students in Classes 4 to 8 will still need to prove their mettle in exams scheduled from March 1 to March 15.
This structured rollout is a welcome change, aiming to bring some much-needed discipline to the province’s educational rhythm. With the dates now public, the ball is firmly in the students’ court to start hitting the books.
