WhatsApp has announced that it would not service older smartphones as from 2025. This is because the messenger is developing its platform for better performance and security, leaving all old devices behind. WhatsApp will end support for devices older than “KitKat version 4.4” from January 1, 2025. The company will also stop supporting versions of iOS older than “15.1” for iPhone users starting from May 5, 2025.

These versions of the iPhone can only be updated to iOS 12.5.7, so you will not receive the chance to install any update on this iPhone like iOS 15.1 or any later updates.

Change does not hit the old WhatsApp application but WhatsApp Business as well. People have to find new ones and stick to a new one and continue interacting with the businessperson clients.
